If my UN55B8000 Samsung TV a couple of weeks. He has more than match the hype. Hooked up and put on a Blu-ray. Even the bellboy jaw drop, and is delivered / installed hundreds of televisions.
TV is only ½ inch thick and weighs only 60 pounds or so.
In fact, sometimes it's almost too good. When people display HD you can see every mole, scars, wrinkles, stray hair, makeup, Five O'Clock Shadow, a line of make-up etc. I'm sitting here watching the news and I can clearly see small pieces of gauze over boy black dress. I guess the Talking Heads of tomorrow will have to be much better complexion.
If you want to tune the TV to it provides many different controls. There are already some sites that give you what they consider good settings to maximize the PIC. You can also check the settings on B7000. It seems pretty darn great right out of the box if you're not a technician, do not worry.
Sounds .. not particularly good or bad, but I do not want the TV speakers taking up space anyway. If you spend all that money for a TV, you must use the stereo.
Some guests have complained about the number of entries. Once again, the number is sufficient. I run my PS3, XBOX360, IPOD, and a box of dishes through my Denon, so I use an HDMI port.
You can connect to the Internet. No set-up, simply plug it in. The first thing it does is download 12 updates itself. They have no idea what they did, but ... not cause problems. Automatically loads the Yahoo Widgets. Fun to try ... but it is not something that I really got back and widely used. Also, some have built in content ... recipes, illustrations, etc. I did not bother to look.
You can connect USB drives and view the contents directly on the reader.
