I am a big fan of puns, and I love Scrabble (but the complex system of notation can be a pain when you do not play on a computer). Bananagrams I found to be great, Because it is just a bunch of cards, no points system, based only on the speed with which a player can find words and get rid of their tile faster. Another big advantage is that you can play many game variations, such as:
-How instructions, where each player takes a certain number of tiles and tries to make their own crossword as quickly as possible before the players have finished.
A speed-Scrabble version, where each player takes a number of tiles and all take turns adding one crossword. The player who gets rid of their tiles first wins.
One-player game where the player takes a tile to a banana and tried on the crossword puzzle using all the tiles.
And I'm a sucker for cute pouch boxes to enter! This game is really great for on-the-go. Certainly carry with me my next trip to the airport!
