Slightly different to the T31c Transmitter, the slim, light and waterproof T31 doesnt have the benefit of coding for interference free transmission. However, its purpose remains the same: to transmit your heart rate to your wrist unit ECG (electrocardiogram) accurately.

Would suggest buying the Omron Hr-100C instead at about the same price- all the parts are interchangeable with the Polar T31 (and I would guess other higher end Polars). This is great news. I have been a Polar heart rate monitor user for a long time but hate the fact that the battery in their chest straps are not replaceable by the user. You have to buy a whole new Polar chest strap when the battery dies- at the same price as the full Omron HRM product. But the Omron's chest strap has a replaceable battery- gosh what a novel idea! ;-) I still prefer the Polar watch (which does have a replaceable battery) over the Omron watch (which also has a replaceable battery), so now I can mix and match in order to use the Polar watch with the Omron chest strap. This gives me the freedom to replace both batteries on my own without having to buy a new product. Also nice that both products interface well with the Sole elliptical machines built in heart rate monitor, which btw is a very nice... Read more
