Years ago, I used this whistle for an entire summer while working as a lifeguard at a summer camp. The swim area was a small outdoor lake with a large area roped off, so I needed a whistle that could be heard over distance and noise. I found this whistle to be outstanding, both in performance and in construction. I have used lots of other whistles in my lifetime, and this is clearly THE WORLD'S GREATEST WHISTLE. First, there is NO PROBLEM with the Acme Whistle product (from the UK) - They have delivered a great product for something like 100 years - Of course, I have always been a fan of the Acme Thunder line. Again, you can't say a thing bad about the quality of the Acme products. I bought a pretty big supply of big and small whistles. All of them were exactly what I expect from the Acme Whistle folks. What I was really impressed by was a "Titanic" replica I bought (kind of on a "whim" - Looked cool). This is "BIG BODY" whistle that takes a bit of a lung full to blow (like a Hockey Referee whistle or any of the BIG Acme Thunder whistles) that is just really cool. A brass whistle (plated perfect) that comes in a presentation box that would make someone a great gift. I am not sure if I should display it or actually use it !
