5.0 out of 5 stars How to disable the horn beep, May 20, 2010

I bought this clock because the only alternative was a $450 clock from a different manufacturer. However, as a countdown clock for a speaker with a live audience I cannot have the beep/horn sound when it reaches the end. So I took a gamble and bought it anyway, hoping I could pop it open and disable the speaker. After I got it, I jammed a screw driver down inside the speaker a couple of times and it worked! The clock still works perfectly but now it doesn't beep. The speaker is on top of the unit, a small circle with some fabric covering it. I didn't even have to take the clock apart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what you expect, January 5, 2009

Excellent product. Nice large numbers that are easy to see. Simple controls. Good for the price.

Only problem was a loud beep that sounds when the battery is low. It is understandable that it alerts you when the battery is low, but it continues to do so even after you plug it in. So, once I got the error ("L: 00" and beeping) I plugged it into the wall. It worked fine for a while, but eventually started giving me the error and loud beeps every 15 or so seconds. Kind of distracting... I just pulled the battery out completely to stop that.

Great product other than that one little annoyance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lacking options, December 21, 2009

The LEDs are very bright and the unit seems well constructed, but you have no control over the "buzzer" it is just a beep for about 1 sec. And I got this specifically for the interval timer option, but the "interval" is only programmable for 0 seconds or 15 seconds. It would have been perfect if I could have set the interval for whatever time I would like. I was wanting to be able to set it for 5-10 minute rounds with a 1 minute break, now we will have to set it manually each time.
