It hangs and swings as expected. We didn't use the plastic hardware that came with it, since we have a hammock chair stand. I'd read some other reviews that mentioned the plastic hardware. While it seems sturdy enough, I'd be hesitant to use it. My son was excited about it for the first couple of days. Then the scratchy acrylic fabric started to bother him and he stopped using it. It is exclusively sized for young kids. I'm about the size of a fat 7th grader and it is way too small for me to sit in comfortably. Since it is about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of other chair swings, the quality is reflective of the price. I bought this chair for my grandson. He'd been wanting one since he was 6. Now he's 12 and lives in a house where his dad could suspend it from a joist in their ceiling. He absolutely loves it. It's comfortable and he sits in it to read or listen to his i-pod. I'm actually going to sew a pocket it on it somewhere to put his i-pod. The only issue we've had with it is the seat cushion will not stay inflated for long. That's easily remedied. I bought this for my classroom at IKEA last summer. I have been EXTREMELY happy it! It is used every single day by students with and without sensory issues. It's affordable compared to the similar products in Occupational Therapy magazines. I plan on putting one in my own home for my children. I would recommend this for anyone! |
